Why everyone keeps coming back.

南小料 RISTORANTE PICCOLO NAN is a must-visit gem for those craving authentic Sichuan and Chinese cuisine in the heart of Rome. Nestled on Via Tuscolana, this vibrant restaurant brings a slice of Sichuan’s bold, fiery flavors to Italy, perfectly balancing tradition with the bustling Roman dining scene.

From the moment you enter, you’re welcomed by an inviting atmosphere that radiates warmth and authenticity, setting the stage for a memorable culinary journey. The menu showcases a delightful array of dishes, with standout options that tantalize your palate and awaken the senses. Begin your experience with the Insalata dei funghi neri or the delicately spiced Insalata di gamberi, where freshness and a subtle kick of heat prepare you for what’s to come.

The vegetable specialties are a celebration of vibrant textures and distinctive Sichuan seasoning. The Sexy melanzane and Specialità di cavolfiori are particularly noteworthy, each dish offering a perfect harmony between spice, smoky depth, and a satisfying bite. These plates, rich with wok-fried sensations and fragrant garlic, perfectly showcase the kitchen’s meticulous care and mastery over traditional ingredients.

For those who appreciate a good drink pairing, 南小料 thoughtfully complements its flavors with a curated list of beverages, including crisp Italian white or red wines and refreshing cocktails like the classic Aperol spritz or a smooth Gin tonic. And don’t miss out on their unique Caffè al latte cocco 生椰拿铁, a coconut milk latte that refreshingly rounds off any meal.

Patrons frequently praise 南小料 not only for its authentic and bold Sichuan tastes but also for its generous portions and excellent value. One guest remarked on the “big, well-balanced servings with all the right spices,” while another described it as “a special place, not your usual Chinese restaurant.” Even amidst diverse culinary expectations, the restaurant shines through with its distinctive dishes and attentive service, leaving many eager to return.

Whether you’re a Sichuan aficionado or a curious foodie exploring the depths of Chinese cuisine beyond the typical offerings, 南小料 delivers an immersive and satisfying experience that stays true to its roots while embracing the cosmopolitan charm of Rome.

A great place in Rome for authentic Sichuan flavors—spicy, distinctive, and different from the usual Chinese restaurants in the city.

The best ramen I’ve had anywhere in Italy and the closest to authentic Korean fried chicken I’ve had since living there. An absolute gem that I am happy to have found by chance when going to the toko across the street. The food was great and so was the service. I look forward to returning to Roma so I can eat here again!

If you are looking for authentic Chinese cuisine and good value for money, look no further! This is so far the BEST place we've discovered in Rome. The portions are big, very well balanced with all the right spices and the food is simply yummy. We l9ved every single dish (eggplant & tofu stood out for sure) and we will come back for more! Thank you for this wonderful culinary experience and the friendly service.
